New Mexico: The People
Earlier this year, taking a stranger's portrait was an intimidating task. I dreaded the thought of interrupting somebody with my bulky gear and asking for a slice of their time to chat and photograph. Over the months, I've become much more comfortable with the idea and now I welcome the challenge of seeking out strangers and taking their portrait.
Being welcomed into someone's life for a brief moment is very special, and I cherish each of these portraits for reasons that go beyond their composition.
